Default Just moved to Portland

Greetings everyone. We just moved to Portland and brought my beloved S2000 from the east coast. Would love to connect with other S2000 owners in the area.

Does anyone go to the local Cascade Cars & Coffee? This past weekend several people mentioned to me about the large group of S2000 owners who sometimes come.

Thanks, and happy new year!

We occasionally have a few members show up for the PDX C&C in Tigard, but we don't usually organize for that

We do have a few group meets scheduled for this year. Be sure to check it out and clear your calendar!

Good call James.

We used to go to Cascade, some members still do, the majority goes to the Carmen Dr. Cars and Coffee it seems now. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/103...d-cars-coffee/

Also, if you're looking for some things to check out around town, this is in the FAQ; https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/840...town-portland/

Looking forward to meeting you soon!

Thanks everyone! We're in the Laurelhurst area of Portland. We just moved here from Philadelphia, and absolutely love it! Should have come here years ago!

Nice area! Inner SE is a great place, even more so in the summer time! Depending on what you are into, there are some great bars / restaurants very close to you. Also make sure to pick up a couple bicycles

I am close by just over the river in downtown and a couple others work in the area so if you need some tips let us know!

Welcome! I work downtown, would be happy to point you around town as needed. It is a beautiful and charming place, especially when spring arrives.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! That's one of the best things we've noticed, and appreciated, about Portland - people here are so friendly compared to the east coast (we used to live on the "Main Line" of Philadelphia, the epicenter of pompous pretentious elitist snobs with disturbingly white teeth). We should have moved here years ago.

We're both foodies, some of the best food we've ever had have been $7 meals from the amazing food carts - we can't make food this good at home for so little money. I'm a huge beer fan, and having a great brewpub almost on every block is also amazing. We do have bikes (to help work off the calories of all the food and beer), but we'll have to get used to riding in the rain.

Are there enough sunny days here to make it worthwhile having a convertible? Or should I bite the bullet and find a hardtop?

Thanks again!

If you daily drive your s2000 I'd invest in a hardtop, if not then yes there absolutely are enough sunny days to make a convertible worthwhile. It sounds like you guys are in the right place Looking forward to having you join some group events this coming year.

P.S. Only tourists carry umbrellas.
