Default Yosemite Cruise May 03 2015

Keep an eye on this post if you plan to go as the details may be subject to minor changes!!

Yosemite Cruise.

We will have a major Rendezvous at the In n Out Burger in Manteca. 1490 Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, CA 95336.
This is where I would like the major S2k groups to converge.

9am to 9:30am I would like to roll out between 9:30am to 10:30am. Its shy of a 2 hour drive from there to Yosemite National Park via CA120, so we would arrive there at lunch time.
We would stop at the cafe and eat and chat. If we have enough time, I want to then roll out to Glacier Point. It is a very scenic spot that overlooks the whole valley. I think it would make a great finale to a very long trip.

The park pass is $30 per car and is a week pass. I am not opposed to anyone staying overnight. I have no plans to do so myself and will make the long trek home after going to Glacier Point.

I am inviting both the Bay Area and Central Valley Groups to attend. I will leave it up to you guys/gals if you want to have your own caravans to Manteca. You will know your groups and know how many to expect. We can't stay in Manteca for too long as our time is fleeting. So getting a good head count is necessary. Once we hit the roll out time, we won't have much time budget to wait.

Update:
Central Valley will be leaving from Fresno and entering the park from the southerm entrance. We will be converging with them at the Curry Village in Yosemite National Park around noonish.

If you plan to lead a caravan please PM me or contact me if you have other means and let me know.

EDIT Moved to MAY 3

For the Sac group: I am posting our caravan on another Topic here.

Hi All!

Coming up from LA for this. Me and the BF are going to stay in Oakhurst, jump into the drive group somewhere around Moccasin or Groveland area (looks like you will be driving through there on the way into Yosemite) and run with you all the rest of the day, or at least until Wawona Road on the way back from Glacier Point. There, we will likely break off and head south back toward Oakhurst.

See you next weekend!

I got an update from RMurphy that the park is pretty packed. Parking will may be an issue, in which case we will park at a picnic area.

Glacier Point may be a bit chilli so you may want to bring a jacket if we make it to that part of the trip.

Thanks!

Just our luck, Hwy 120 over Tioga Pass will open 5/4/15.

Well, CA120 was fun and Glacier Point was awesome . You just had to be mindful of the 'stealth potholes' on Glacier Point Road which were concealed by the tree shadows. Luckily none of us hit them.

10 cars made it down. I will try and get some pictures up tomorrow. It was a ton of fun! Weather was perfect!
