I am a personal fan of all the healthy discussions happening in the s2ki forum. Great members and great forums. Kudos guys ! I own a 2005 S2000 94000 miles on it. Stock except for the a competetion state 2 clutch and a lighter flywheel which the previous owner installed.

I hear a noise and I notice a play in the drive shaft when turning side to side. The shaft that's connected to the gear box also rotates/moves side to side when I turn the drive shaft. I have attached a video here for your reference. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this issue.

There is no vibration/ noise from high speed driving. Whenever I go off/on throttle, the drive line seems to have that play and it makes that noise. When i engage the gear and try to launch it, there is this play, then the noise along with it, then I feel a hesitation from the drive line before I move. I am guessing mounts are bad.

Also I want to understand if the play in the drive shaft like this is normal ?

this may be off topic, but i think you're missing a washer from the prop shaft to the diff.

the rotational play may be normal.... i'll try to check mine tomorrow.

maybe change your trans and diff fluid?

I have this exact same behavior. I don't know if it's normal or not.

While it doesn't seem to cause any driving issues, it's annoying when getting on/off the throttle, and it just does not seem like it's something that should be normal.

Thanks Krenath. Yeah thats what I am planning to do this weekend - trans fluid and diff fluid. Please let me know how it feels in your car. That would be good information to have. Thanks again
