Default Obvious choice?

Not sure about this! PH article

The obvious replacement in my mind for my S2000
It's a nice fun car, but does lack that engine!

I'd have to disagree with him. Yes the S is hard work, but having had plenty of time in NA, NC and ND MX-5s I'd still prefer the S. It's engineered as a little race car and feels like it, whereas the 5 is a bit... normal by comparison.

Don't get me wrong, though, the latest 2.0-litre 5 is mega in its own way.

Apart from theNSX that's a particularly dull and unimaginative selection.

Surely one cold not possibly choose an MX-5 over an S2000?!

As an occasional user of one, albeit a JDM 1994 Eunos RS-Limited (wife's), it is a good, fine handling car, but the little experience I have had with the S, unless the later MX-5's are miles better than the NA model, the S takes the fun factor to a whole new level, especially with that engine and gearbox.

Ah, so he doesn't actually own them - I thought they were his actual cars. I've never played £100K garage before, what are the rules

Some here have gone back to Maz-NAs, so it's indeed possible.

But having gone the other way, I don't think I could go backwards again.

The S2000 is a whole other level, as you say.

But with my £90K fleet, I don't think there's anywhere forward to go right now. Technically, that leaves 10K left, but I have neither the space nor the time for anything else, unfortunately.

£10k? A silly kit car surely?

You have some nice, purist choices Nick. The S is an amazing car imho and fun per £ its absolutely awesome

And to be clear i dont use those words lightly.

By comparison our drive has a qashqai and a GTD.. So we can lie 7 people in discomfort. Hmmph

40 mile commute and stuck in traffic. Then get a piece of shit, fit a DAB radio and don't put 40miles per day on the car! Incidentally, the POS I have bought is a Mk2 MX5.

I don't know, but I reckon the rules are choose some cars you'd like on a budget of £100k. It's a pretty wild guess though
