Yes please, I'm planning a trip sometime soon to give the SCed S a proper outing. :-)
Here is a map of our route but we did change a few roads as we went along.

From what we learnt over the trip here are the roads you NEED to plan into your trip. Every one of these roads were simply breath taking to drive.

B5105 Ruthin to Cerrigydrudion

A4086 Capel Curig to Caernarfon

A4085 Caernarfon to Beddgelert

A494 Dolgellau to Bala

A487 Cross Foxes Inn to Machynlleth

A485 Llanfarian to Lampeter

A478 Cardigan to Narberth

B4314 Narberth to Pendine

A4069 Upper Brynamman to Llandovery – Top Gear road – scenery on this road is stunning.

B4560 Garnlydan to Llangynidr – Stunning road.

B4520 Brecon to Builth Wells – Best road of the trip.

B4518 Rhayader to Llanbrynmair

These roads are excellent. I don't know them all, but I live in South Wales and roughly 30min away from the A4069. Those roads in and around the Brecon Beacons are amazing and arguably better than the famous 'Evo Triangle'. I think the A4069 is a best drive from Llandovery to Brynamman (but that's just personal preference!)

[/quote]

We did the A4069 a few times in both directions and I agree with you, stopped for an icecream at the top and watched the bikers going past, that was good.

Reminds me of my trip to North Wales about a month ago. As mentioned, the Evo triangle was good, but nothing above what many other roads in Wales offer. And yeah, be careful of the western side of the triangle, very bumpy!

Amazing scenery wherever you go!

Very interesting...

I guess it was just a standard Fiesta?

Fiesta's have always had good handling though.
Yup it is a diesel as well so the torque was useful on the steep roads.
And I bet it didn't need to stop for fuel as often as the rest

The fiesta did one fuel stop on the whole trip.

The RS6 filled up 4 times and managed 12mpg!

Very nice! I live on the edge of the Brecons and know a good few of the spots in your photos. Great roads, and even better that you had nice weather to work with.

After seeing this I decided to take a trip up to Brecon Beacons for a couple of days....

Verdict: AWESOME!

Other than Pen Y Fan and the caves, we also checked out the 3 roads you drove on in Brecon. All amazing!! Thanks for putting them up here and giving me a reason to get myself to brecon!

Black mountain road was my personal favourite heading South, and given we went on a week day every road was completely empty!

My girlfriend soon regretted saying "I can't wait to be inside a cloud!!!". Pen Y Fan = more effort than it's worth when the view is complete whiteness...
