Intake manifold pipe
Was checking the fluids yesterday and noticed this:

[attachment=97207:CameraZOOM-23072016160329.jpg]
I've not noticed any performance loss, do I need to just replace the pipe or should I be looking for something more?

The grey pipe is connected to the crank case pcv, basically blows oil into the intake manifold.
I would suggest installing a catch can, incidentally MB had one for sale at the moment.
If the above is the what your talking about please ignore me

The black rubber hose (as we call is in North America) is a breather to recycle oil vapor thru the engine to be burned. If there's excessive oil vapor or even oil it self a catch can will -- wait for it! -- catch it.
None of the blue hose is OEM. Wonder why the black was left in place?
Could just be a bad hose.

Oil catch can eh? Anyone got a write up on how to fit it?
The blue hoses I fited, didn't have enough length to replace all of the pipes and never got around to ordering anymore.

Lots of ways and means to install. Most basic is to have a pipe from pcv to catch can and then catch can to intake. Very simple but effective. I personally cut my pcv to inlet pipe in half and then inserted a mini fuel filter insitu

Hope you clean that mini filter a lot and that if flows well otherwise you'll stop the breathing and pressurise the head = bad. That's why OEM is best or failing that, a proper catch can.

Changed every few months, surprisingly clean though. Get through 2 at a track day mind.

Past two summers I recall using the rest of the 6th quart of oil during the season.
I put a dual catch can on my car this spring was I was curious if I was sending those few ponces oil that way. Royal Purple 10W-30 synthetic. Nothing visible in the oil level sight tubes right now. I'm right at the top X on both sides of the dipstick so far this year. I'll detail check at oil change time. Not had to add a drop of oil so far this summer. 4100 miles so far.
Delivery delay of several months after ordering was so long I almost forgot I ordered them! I'll probably remove the catch cans if the car is not throwing oil their way. Lots of hoses had to be added. Dual catch cans nestled next to the battery:
