Default No limiter on downchange

I've read and remained mindful that the rev limiter would not protect against a clumsy downchange, but is this a unusual/unique to the S2000 or the same for every car and I've just only learned of it inside this community??

That would apply to any manual car.

If you are in 6th and stick it in 2nd, nothing can protect you from a mechanical over rev.

I cannot conceive of how anyone would think that a fuel cut-off device could possibly protect from an incompetent downchange...

If you mean the sentence structure, that was clearly deliberate/ironic!

If you mean the dropped apostrophe...I'm hurting!
