I use a cheap £22 quid 4w solar charger from amazon in my garage - it doesnt have power so can't run my ctek to it ;-( .

Seems to keep things topped up nicely - was away for 4 weeks - and started first time of asking, it should keep things topped up enough over winter.

Prevention is much better than a knackered battery,

S.

Can anyone please tell me if the CTEK MXS 3.8 Multi Functional 7-stage battery charger 3.8 A
is a good option and compatible for trickle charging my car over the winter months without removing the battery.

Cheers.

You only need 500ma at most to "maintain" the battery over the winter. And a good 10a-15a charger to charge (vs maintain) the battery. 3.8a is too big for a maintainer, but will work fine, but could take days to properly charge other batteries such as your truck or boat.
