Default plastic center ring for track use?

My volks came with plastic center rings..and I am wondering if they would melt after hard driving on the track?

There is no purpose for them on the S, so don't use them.

Forget my previous post, I obviously thought you were talking about plastic center caps!

If you don't like the rusted hubs that will be exposed, Treat the hubs with "Ospho" then paint them with a high heat black paint - I did this once a year ago and it still looks good!
Whats Ospho?

My CE28N's came with the rings and center caps. Neither used on the track, but the center caps look nice for the street.

I was talking about TE37s..but guess they wouldn't need the rings either..
The SSR comp wheels for my M w/o rings cause vibration at speed..but if that's not the case for volks, then why did Ray included them with the wheels? Just curious..

SSRcomps that need center rings..and notice that the center ring in the pic is two piece in metal and hard plastic..which wouldn't melt down from the heat.

SSRcompHs that don't need center rings..The wheel centerbore design looks the same as Volk

they are hubcentric rings, don't throw them away. put them on, and don't worry about them. They are there because of the way Volk makes their hub/hats. they should not melt, as there is no friction on them... Nick, it doens't have anything to do with ospho.... but that stuff is some good ****... I need to use some on the drums on the rear of the rover... ha ha

The heat is not from the friction, butfrom the brake. If you have seen a red glowing rotors, you know what I am talking about.
Richard is not using them and no problem. and I asked "WHY" volk send them along...I believe what Richard said..and don't see the need of them myself either considering the design of the centerbore.
What do you mean by "the way Molk makes their hub/hats"? What's the difference of the design b/w Volk and the 2nd pic?
