Default K20 head vs F20 head cfm

Read some horseshiit on some RSX forum about the K20 head being superior due to ivtec... Anyone have any air flow charts to prove this?

Saw something about a K20 head on an F20 bottom end reving to 10 or 11k...

Not really trying to start a debate, just want a cfm reading.

iVTEC is VTEC plus VTC or Variable Timing Control. It does not impact the CFM the head can flow at all. It simply is a computer controlled cam gear. This allows for the optimization of TQ across the entire rev range, instead of having to focus on just one area. Depending on the type of driving trying to be optimized, VTC can either help a lot or do virtually nothing. For example, VTC would be a big help at the drag strip, but would not be of much use on a road track for an experienced driver.

Regarding the CFM capabilities of the two heads, I would guess they are roughly equal in the hands of an experienced cylinder head shop. From the factory, the F series has higher flows.

I was actually contemplating trying something like that video every since I heard the two head were interchangeable. It would definitely have to be a built/polished/ported head but it would open more options for camshafts. I wonder what the combustion chamber CC's are on a K20 head. I would be curious to see what kind of compression ratio you would get just by placing it over a stock bottom end.

The only reason I'd swap over the K head is for the iVtec function. It'd be awesome if we could adapt iVTEC to the f head.

so if the civic guys can pull off a f20 block with k20 head and get killer power why the hell hasnt anyone done it with an s2000 yet? K pro engine management to allow for full iVtec control would make for a sick na s2k or maybe even a badass turbo s

F20c parts... NOT F20c Head.

You can not swap a either head as they will not bolt up. Furthermore the timing chain on the f20 would need to be modified to go around the cam gears of the K20a head.

If you want iVTEC on an S2000 you will need to do this.

1) K-Pro for the S2000
2) K Series cam gears modified to fit the F20/22 Cams
3) Modified the Timing Chain to be longer, the Block, and the Valve Cover to allow for clearance of the timing chain
4) After you have spent all that money you can still make LESS power than a Turbo/SC kit which would have been cheaper.
