S2k like Digital Gauges

Just browsing ebay motors and look what I found? 88 Pontiac Trans Am...so the s2k's gauges wasn't so far fetched afterall

man the digi dash has been out for awhile but they were crude looking and had a tron feel to it.

Not sure which year model this CRX is though

The c4 corvette also had a (partially) digital gauge cluster

That looks similar, maybe that's a later model C4? I ould only find pics of the early 90's c4. They had an analog tach on the left, and a huge lcd in the middle.

If I remember right, from my few test drives, it was multifunction, could show fuel, temp, rpms (but always had mph shown). I could be wrong it's been 6 or 7 years since I've driven one

notice how all the tach are curved down at the end....i wonder what the tach gauge look like if they had vtec back then

An old 300ZX maybe?

My old 1989 Chrysler New Yorker had a digital dash and speedo. That was my first car about 9 years ago.

i know some models of the chevy caprice had the digital gauges, but overall the s2k doesnt look outdated and functions very well. but it isnt a lambo digital gauage :p

I had this one. It came on the rare '88-89 Mazda 323 GTX (AWD turbo), and being optional made it even more rare. It was pretty cool but I hated how the tach numbers became more "compressed" at higher revs, where accuracy is most needed.

See the small spiral in the center of the tach? That's the boost gauge. It would spiral around as boost went up :cool:

This thread highlights how digital gauges don't age well...and yes, I think the S2000's looked dated as well. Decent layout, but the color is all wrong. An LCD display would have been much nicer.

this is from a 86-87 crx with the dohc(zc) 1.6

Did you mean LCD? The S2000 uses LCDs.
