Default Issue fitting J's snorkle to MY04

Just beein trying to fit this little bugger.

It appears the MY04 has a front bumper bar, which is getting in the way of the snorkle. It means that it won't lie flat where the mounting hole is.

I can't remember the MY00 having this?

Has anyone fittef one of these to an MY04???

Simple solution would be to unbolt the bumper bar! - think weight reduction, even if you loose half a NCAP star !!

I know the 04+ snorkles have a groove cut into them.

Same issue here with the Spoon snorkle. I have removed that bar (2 screws on each side)

Either remove the bumper bar, or pack the gap where the bolt is with washers and put some sticky-draft-excluder-type-material to prevent vibration?

Just give me the intake and the problem will go away

If you do decide to remove the bar...think about what other jobs you can do (replace headlamps etc) whilst the bumper is off.

P.S. You can't cut plastic for sh1t

Was your Dremmel on crack when it was cutting the plastic?

My first thoughts when I saw the pictures were that the filter will be getting blocked by all the little bits of plastic.

That shroud is soft enough that you can do it in place with a Stanley knife.

Looks like he used an old bread knife on that poor panel!
