Radio door-to-knee ??? Here's what to do.
For those who really find ennoying to have the radio door hitting the knee when it is open Look what i did !!!
First you have to remove the door assembly by gently pulling on it. ( it might be very hard to take it out ...At least the first time ) Follow the link to see how to remove it :http://users.rcn.com/dhintz/Michelle/Audio/audio.html
Second : Once you have this done you should have something like this in your hand :
This is a picture of the back :
Next you have to find a small rubber band about the same size of this one :
Then you will have to attach the rubber band here :
Put a small amount of hot glue to prevent the rubber band to dissengage from the little hatch :
Put the assembly in place and open the door and with the help of the rubber band you will see that the door once it is open it will be held higher than normal when it's all opened up :
I suggest you to try different size of rubber band before gluing it in place.
Also i have put a small amount of silicone grease on the rubber band to prevent it to fail because it is rubbing a on the door assembly when you open the door.
You can put a small amount of silicone grease on the fittings before putting the door assembly in place to help you in the future if you want to remove it.

I was thinking the other day, if there was a clear console cover. I like it closed when I'm parking, but I like it fully open when I'm driving so I can use my remote control for my stereo. But this is a great solution, thanks!
