We've been meaning to get these new turbo display pics up for you guys to see. These pictures show the second part of our equation for producing a responsive and powerful turbo system..... the downpipe.

Our downpipe design is as close to a straight shot out as you'll ever get on the S2000. Also, the placement of the turbo gives the exhaust gases the shortest path from the turbine outlet to the exhaust tip. The pics also show the divorced, low-angle merge, wastegate recirculating tube option.

Just for fun, we wanted to show the other benefit that the stainless steel Tial housing offers, other than the gasketless v-band connection. The pics show our Tial/Garrett GT3076R turbo/manifold combination vs. a standard 4-bolt Garrett 57-trim turbo by itself:

A few members have inquired about running a smaller turbo with our turbo system. They want the best low end torque and response. It may come as a surprise to some, but our set-up with the standard GT3076R and standard Tial .82AR turbine housing has no problem hanging with the smaller turbo set-ups when it comes to low end response, spool-up, and torque.
I was one of the people who had asked, and I took your word for when I got the reply. (And also after reading people's driving impressions of the kit.) The dyno results prove it very well.

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that the Ptuning manifold minimizes the volume between the cylinder head and the turbo. Per Garrett's website, this benefits spool. (And per common sense - less room to expand and lose energy; less distance to travel to hit the turbine. That's also why logs are known for fast spool.) There are plenty of other equal length manifolds available, but most of them have a longer run from head to turbo.

Here's the quote from Garrett's site:
For better boost response, minimize the exhaust volume between the exhaust ports and the turbine inlet

Further, that's the straightest downpipe I've seen yet. No worries about tight bends coming off the turbine that would impede flow. Heck, I'm not even sure this one qualifies as a "down" pipe anymore.

Put both of those things together and you get a very efficient & responsive design. Quite impressive.
