Default Radio door spring broken

Hi All,

My radio door spring has broken so it no longer opens when pressed. Is there any way to replace the spring without getting a new door? Does a new door come with a new spring? Hardtopguy shows two types of door, one for 2004 and one for 2006 models. What's the difference? Presumably it's not worth me buying from him once you factor in postage but anyone know how much Honda would charge for the part?

Thanks as always.

Tim

As a reference, ive just had the radio door replaced on my (thankfully under warranty) because the clip had failed so it wouldnt stay shut.
My local dealer couldnt seem to fix it until they replaced the entire door.
The cost was hilarious - £167 just for the part!
For that price id go to a break yard to replace it!
It could also have been my dealers 'special' price of course. They are pretty special down here! ;-)

Check if the top of the door is rubbing on the vent over it, was on mine a little sandpapering to cure, after honda replaced the spring and catch! (under warranty!) Doh!! yes I did tell the service manager.he went quiet.

So to answer your question, if it is the spring/catch not just sticking they can replace it.

I replaced my boring black door a couple of weeks ago with the silver one. The clip was a totally seperate part. I did buy the door off ebay but it was brand new in it's original packaging. I'd ask Honda if you can get the little spring on it's own. Fidly to fit though.

Chad.

Oh yes it is.
I had to get one last year and it took Honda just two days.
Cant find the part number now though, and I wrote it down because I just knew someone on here would eventually want it. I have a suspicion its been 'tidied away' by the domestic authority.

There is no difference between LHD & RHD for this part. Its quite possible that the part number has changed. Mine was for a 2001, I note that the new number quoted is for a 2009 albeit most of the part number is the same. Whatever, it doesnt cost much and is available - result!
