I've tried to look for alternatives myself long time ago, because this shitty sensor is ridiculous expensive in Germany (180,- EURO!!).
Start shameless plug for us Europeans

Well.. look no further than CFL Honda.
http://www.cflhonda.com/
They DO ship worldwide @ US prices!
The 30530-PCX-003 is in their price list for $110 (~ 90 Euro)
Okay, you have to add some shipping but it will be way less than 180 Euro.
One thing: they show two descriptions for the same part# (Both S2000 knock sensors) but one shows MY'00-05.

Thanks Spitfire, that's a great info!

According to my dealer's interchange reference, the knock sensor is:

MY00-MY05; Part Number 30530-PCX-003 is only S2000-Compatible ........cost online is $120

MY06-MY09; Part Number 30530-PRC-003 is also compatible with Civic from MY06-MY10........cost online is $58
Seems that the Knock-Sensor is directly related to the ECU and not to the engine.
The mechanical engine isn't changed between MY2005 and 2006.

Far less ignorant that coming to this thread without OEM documentation of compatiability.

Telling folks that it's okay without any proof from an authoratitive source is beyond ignorant. It's irresponsible.

BTW, Honda-Tech is so far down the list of reliable sources that you run out of paper before you can get to it.
If you want to start taking responsibility for that, then we're both incorrect.

What I will do is look into this more, with the part numbers.

Please see my post, above,
k and? - - I will run this and see if my motor blows up. I guess if I have my car for a long time with no issues it proves itself effective. I am goign to call Honda tomorrow, and maybe get a hold of someone that knows a little more about our cars, and knock sensors.

You drive an S2000 stop being cheap, if the part numbers are different SOMETHING is different about the part.

That is your opinion. Explain this then oil pressure sensor for VTEC from a integra GSR has a different part Number as well, but I have one of those on my car and I hit VTEC every time.

Get your shit straight before you post on here, I am still looking into this to see if these are a direct replace or error can occur. would be nice to have some support, but all i hear is so i guess for right now.

Cheers

i'm gonna spreadsheet this and post it on my wall.

my mom says its also illegal to use civic parts in a s2000 cause were classy folks.

Ha. =) yeah well I am glad to hear you have been running this for two years, many people on here think S2000 parts are gold.. All my parts I get for my S2000 are new From Honda. If I can save some money with out hurting anything then I will.

I have GSR oil pressure switch for VTEC on my car, been running it for 3 months now, no problems..

P eople need to get off their high horses and go to hell. =]

I'd like to see some documentation that this Si part is no different than the S2000 Part.
