wow! I loved every second of it, your mini documentary has so much soul and purity into it that I couldnt help but smile when I saw you guys giving each other high fives, toasting beers at dinner, and going absolutely bonkers on the straightaway, not to mention that white porsche that passed you guys. I can only hope that one day I can do some sort of trek that you and your friends have done, but with me residing in the states, my ability to take the s2k with me to the nurburgring is pretty slim. I had to rewind the part where the MR2 lost its tail end and went right in between the two parked cars numerous times, at first I thought it was going to rear end the s2k. What modifications have you done to your s2? what kind of suspension are you running? Congratulations on your trip and well made video.

Thanks fellow S2KiERs! The car noises are there but faint in the background. If you want to hear them you'll have to turn it up.:tipwink: They are turned down because the majority of it is wind noise with the top down and all. I have a friend who is going to remaster the sound soon and that might change the sound for this video.

As far as mods, they are mild. Comptech SC, HKS exhaust, Buddy Club N+ Coilovers, better rotors and pads, 17x9 RPF1s with 255s Direzza Star Specs all around. It's a US spec S2K that I brought over and slowly built just for the Nordschleife. Softer, non-hardcore-track suspension is preferred there due to the imperfections in the track/public toll road. The American instructor in the video told me that the car was capable of a sub 8 minute lap. :faint: He said a supercharged MX5/Miata had recently run an 8 minute lap with traffic and had less power. I told him that sounded like a video game to me. I just couldn't believe it. Then again, it's slightly more about the drivers there than the hardware. My body certainly won't let me run an 8 minute lap in that car just yet.

Thanks again all and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Go to 12:50 in the video and pause it if you can. You'll see the sticky mount sitting horizontal. Using the elbow and clip you can clip the GoPro upright. Let me know if you need more detail and/or an actual picture.

If you could get an actual picture, that would be helpful. I Don't think I have the correct attachment. I have the HD motorsports package.

I have the same package. It's a sticky mount that is slightly curved and comes with the package.

Thanks guys. Vinz your car looks sick and like it belongs on the track. It would definitely be good on film.

Thanks mattxx, I've tried to film a few of my sessions at our local track, but I can't seem to get a clear picture or good mounting position. I will try yours out for next time. Also, what program do you use for editing?

Awesome, Driven. Have a great time! Are you on vacation or business?

vINz, I use the Modifry mount which is very legit. http://modifry.com/p.../windscreen.htm
It also stays hidden and is easy to connect and detach in seconds, which is useful at the 'Ring. At US tracks I'm sure they are cool with mounting the camera elsewhere like outside on the body of the car. I use Sony Vegas.

AFs2k, that's crazy! He's coming to the UK today to pick up his race car and hang out. I'd like to tell him about this coincidence. Can I ask who you are to maybe jog his memory?

Hey, no I don't mind at all. That's pretty cool you'll only be four hours away. I plan on going back next month also with another group of friends that didn't make it out this last time. Will you have your S2K with you? Whenever this happens hit me up. We could kick it in Nuerburg. Very nice chill town.

going for holiday. Me, another S2Ki-er (a moderator), a former marine, and some crazy republican who is stressed thinking the Germans are going to kill us, ala Nazi Germany.

two of us are likely renting a Porsche GT3 Cup car, while the other two are too young and will rent a Clio or something similar.
We're also doing Prague and Amsterdam... so, figured a docu vid of our entire trip would be an interesting watch... especially since we'll be using keyfob spy cams and iphones to document everything. Might have to use a suction cup mount and harry's lap timer for the track.

That sounds like an epic trip too. GT3's there are a dime a dozen there. Not sure what keyfob spy cams are but they sound pretty bad ass. I imagine small hand held cameras the size of a finger. Definitely get a suction cup mount that you can handle quickly. Don't get caught with the lap timer. Keep it hidden until you hit the first Bridge and put it away after the gantry so you won't forget and roll up on a marshall unknowingly smiling with it in the open. If they catch you... they might kill you... They're still Germans.:argh:
