Default Clutch fluid DIY--different methods?

So my clutch feels weird every now and then (e.g. it stiffens up sometimes, sticks somewhat at the bottom, or just feels rougher on occasion).

I narrowed it down to regreasing/repolishing the cylinder rod and the boot/fork:

I also think I'm due for a clutch fluid change... So my question:

Is xvipers method the only method?
http://forums.s2kca.com/showthread.php?t=12154

I mean, do I have to get under the car, mess with the whole bleeding process, etc? I don't have a helper and was wondering, can I just do as this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuwR1...eature=related

He just opens the reservoir, uses a syringe to pump out most of the old fluid, refills, presses his clutch 30-40x.
He then repeats it 4-5x until all of his fluid is clear.

Somehow, xvipers method seems more complex. Is that the only right way to do this?

Thanks!

If you have ape like arms it can be done without a helper

Sucking the fluid out will help but it's a half booty job.

Coincidentally, I am in the same boat. I'm going to pay to have the clutch fluid drained during my next transmission/diff fluid change. If that doesn't fix it then it's on to the re-lube. I'm really hoping that doesn't have to happen...

It's super easy to do and normally do it when I flush the clutch fluid.

In other words, rephrased: The guy in the Youtube video above only does the first half of xvipers DIY... What's the point of the other half, the whole bleeding process?

I did my first oil change, diff fluid, and trans fluid change a few weeks ago. Pretty gratifying and I know it got done right.

I'm reluctant to take my car into dealers (maybe I'm just jaded), because I've heard a lot of horror stories.

If you and maybe a few other guys want to do a tech day to regrease our clutch forks and bleed it and change other misc. fluids, I'm all for it. I'll even bring some beers.

But that might be too beginner for most of you guys, though.

The whole clutch bleed DIY scares the crap out of me doing it alone, actually
