Default Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel

I just wanted to share something I ran across. The company http://www.craftcustoms.com/ does complete carbon and suede wrapping of your steering wheels. The pic is just an example, they do not have a honda in the gallery. I have contacted the owner and below is his reply. Also here is a link to their carbon gallery. Just wanted to share.
The cost to reupholster your steering wheel to carbon fiber and Alcantara suede specifications is $599 plus shipping for synthetic carbon fiber and suede, and $750 for real carbon fiber and suede. All of our work, quality and materials are guaranteed, and meet or exceed manufacturer's specifications. Simply send your wheel in to the address below, along with a copy of this email, your address, phone number, and a brief description of what you want done. Turnaround is about 2-4 weeks depending on which option you choose. We will call you and can take a credit card over the phone to handle payment. And, when your job is complete and ready to ship, we will notify you that it is on its way. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

I like CF but only to a max. For half that price of $600 (give or take), Nardi/NRG has some great CF steering wheels

You can get full carbon aftermarket wheels cheaper, very true. I personally need to retain my airbags for now though. When I can get a cage installed I will definitely get a proper steering wheel. I am also not sure of the tactile grip on holding carbon vs padded suede. Won't the full carbon wheel be more likely to slip under your hand if your not wearing gloves?

Love the Half carbon wheels, think I'll go this route on my nice car. Maybe add a bit or alcantara on the sides.

The alcantara sides are included in his quote. I was just looking at another site the does Mercs and MMW wheels and they charged around 1200. Even JPM charged about 450 for no carbon, so I think the price is fair.

Quality or not, I can't see how that steering wheel would cost $1000 plus when you supply the wheel.

Carbon fiber is cheap and so is alcantera.
Both the materials combined prob wouldn't even $100.

Are they really charging $900+ in labor??

Well the company I posted above only wants 600 for Carbon and Alcantara. Here is one I was comparing against that wants 1200 cause it Mercedes

https://www.sonicms.net/index.php?ro...product_id=536

And here is one for the low price of $1,850 for a C class
http://www.macarbon.com/C-Class-W204...-products.html

Could be worse, they above one also has a CLK wheel for 3,200

600 a an S2k wheel doesn't seem to bad to keep your airbag too. Not cheap still, but could be alot worse. I don't think the steering wheel of a merc is really made that much better than ours to warrant more labor. Just alot of mark up.

No Composites, but I like the look, and the feel is incredible. JPM Customs does nice work! Looks right at home in the CR.
