I was out to Dionisos today to go help a friend move out of his house. Cant really describe how i feel about all this and noone can really understand it if he has not been there to take a look for himself.

 

Some of my feelings for the whole situation....

Θελω να εξηγησεις, που ειναι το αστειο στο γεγονος οτι εχει καει σχεδον ολη η Αττικη και αρκετα μερη της υπολοιπης Ελλαδας. Απο δεντρα, περιουσιες και ανθρωποι που εχουν καει.

 

εχουν καει γιατι τα αφησαν να καουν γιατι εχουμε ενα κρατος μπουρδ...ο.
Μηδεν κινητοποιηση μηδεν συντονισμος αυτο συμβαινει τα τελευταια εικοσι χρονια με τις φωτιες οι οποιες αν απο την αρχη ειχαν αντιμετωπιστει θα ηταν κατι απλο χωρις καταστροφες.

 

You're exactly right notorious, for what it's worth (my opinion as a foreigner), it's not a failure on behalf of the government to act that causes these disasters, since they DO commit all resources, there's simply not enough people and machines. Therefore, it's failure to adequately prepare, which is basically inexcusible.

Here are my shots of Penteli from 2007 (from the same balcony in the same direction)... You would have thought this would be a wake up call, but nooooooo.

το καζινο περσι καηκε ? ολοι ειχαν πεσει πανω του και αφησαν το δασος απροστατευτο. Βεβαια αμεσως μετα δοθηκαν 30 στρεμματα στο καζινο για να φτιαξει ξενοδοχειο. ευγενικη χορηγια

 

The Casino is a client of mine. They didn't burn, but the flames came within 10 metres (last year). I don't know about this year.
