Default Old Rusty Washer Trick for Your Shift Boot

Okay so I've wanted to try this for a while and i finally got around to it today while cleaning my car.

I hate how the shift boot sits lower than the lock nut on the shift knob.....

So i went searching for a large washer.....here's what i found and here's what i did....

That's a great fix. You might want to consider using a rubber washer/s. It will be less likely to damage the boot and over time it will bend downward giving you a little more room just below the knob.

A piece of rubber or vinyl hose, with an appropriate I.D., might work as well. You can trim it to length to achieve whatever gap you prefer.

Lonnie! I got this idea from you directly from you so ALL credit goes to you! Didn't you do this to your first S2000?

BTW, i may have to try a rubber washer.
