powder coating.
Remember that they cannot bake the calipers in the oven with any rubber materials still in tact. This will normally lead to a caliper rebuild after getting them coated. Be sure to look into this to find your total cost.
this is a picture of the front brake assembly. Doesn't look like there is too much to it. The rear looks a bit more intimidating due a lot more small parts, but I think I can handle it. I looked up the price for the "caliper assembly" which is all the rubber bits. $17.98 per caliper=$71.92 This is assuming that they cannot be reused. I guess if you have it all apart though it would be a good idea to rebuild them with new rubber.
I could use some advice from Chris, or Will right about now.
Does anyone know what the powder coating usually costs? Daniel told me he would do it cheaper than anybody else, and I believe him, I just don't know what to expect
I am going to go to lunch with him in a little while. I am gonna tell him that I have about 6 other people interested in doing the calipers and see what I can get lined up. Oh and a front grill and maybe a set of rims.

If you wan't to get the calipers powdercoated, you will have to remove them from the car, and completely disassemble and clean them. All the machined surfaces and threaded holes need to be taped off, and protected. Otherwise, you'll be removing powdercoating from where it doesn't need to be.
Expect to get a rebuild kit for all the calipers, as you'll need to replace all the o-rings and seals when reassembling.
Powdercoating the calipers will be time consuming, and not a 1 day swap.
This is the reasoning why Rick's stopped offering powdercoated calipers, and the fact that nobody was returning there original caliper cores.
Any part that you want coated has to be clean, and free of all old paint, or other coatings. OEM wheels have a very tough clear powdercoated finish, which needs to be removed in a industrial bead blast cabinet. My small home bead blaster won't touch the OEM clear'd wheels.
Figure part prep/cleaning before the coating is done.

Thanks guys. They do have a bead blaster. Daniel, the owner of the shop is going to do my calipers. BUT he was very specific that he would not do anything other than powdercoating. He is concerned about the liability if does anything else. In other words he does not want to be responsible if the brakes failed and you crashed. I am going to go ahead and do my set in the next month or so and see how it goes.
If any one else still wants to do this just wait for now until I get mine done. He is basically doing mine for free. This will be his first set of calipers and he doesn't really know how much to charge. And remember you will be looking at about a week of down time for your car. He has prices on his website, but he will more than likely come down once he knows what it takes to get the job done.

I can't wait for you guys to see the color I picked out. Candy red! it looks anodized!
