Default Flashlight Drags?

has anybody gone to these before? - a couple of buddies and i were thinking of going out. Considering i got my first speeding ticket in five years last sunday going ten over on 79 it might be good to get the speed out.

let me know what they are like if anybody had any experience?

gracias

Aldo, dennis, maury, Phil (you can drag my car buddy!) - anybody want to go?

Any viper appearances?

"Is there anybody out there" (the wall)

so i searched the forum and a couple guys went out in the fall from the club.

here is the link:
http://www.alteredgas.com/flashlight_drags.html

Dennis posted that he raced a pretty serious drag prepped car with slicks last year - the site states only street tires allowed so maybe they made some changes.

Jp - i am heading out from the south hills at 11 am with a couple of other guys who have not been to one of these events. One guy has a cobalt ss (yuck) and the other guy has a crazy modded turbo jetta. If you want to join us feel free. I'm not looking to do anything crazy out there - it would be good to run up the car a couple of times.

Reading from the posts it looks like the best launch is about 4500 rpm - i really dont want to hurt my dif - any suggestions veterans?

I've done it. Its really pretty fun. The ap2 is best launched bertween 4500 and 5000. You'll still get crazy wheel spin, cause the grip up there isnt the greatest. But go and enjoy. We did this last year. There was me, Dennis, Bill and my litlle bro from DC came up to go. We had fun. Heard some douche nozzle in the crowd say something asbout the Miata club showing up, but the first time you school a Mustang GT, they'll shut up.

LOL....no.....even worse. I blew the diff out of it drag racing up the track a few weeks back and its getting rebuilt now....should be done soon...the diff was sent all the way to Texas to get a good machining built with a Torsen diff and 3.33 final drives placed in it....so it will be faster and handle even better when i get it back. The viper is starting to get expensive and i didn't even plan on this mod.

An unplanned mod? That is not like you at all, Bill! What was the stock fd in that thing? 3.33 seems pretty low to me for a Viper, but I know you always know what you're doing when it comes to cars if not ordering drinks in front of a group of people. (Shirley Temple)
