Hey Yinz guys,

Just making my first post. Have been reading the forum since getting the "S" and find it very informative. Actually, my wife owns the "S' and has been DD all winter. She had a z3 and was looking at z4's, but one drive in the "S" and she forgot all about BMW. Looking forward to attending some events this summer.

Welcome Buddy! It's great to have more new members. Keep an eye on the posts for upcoming rides and events. What area do you live in? Watch out for Villain, he's downright mean!

I live in the Western Suburbs - Crafton. Lots of winding roads from Montour run to Robinson.

Made a particualry "spirited" run last night and beginning to understand the handling characteristics of the "S". The tail seems happy to wag in VTECH, but easy to regain composure.

Intersting to compare and contrast with my DD e36 M3.

I'm in Cheswick. Be careful of the rear end slipping out on you. You read about it all the time on the forum, and the results are not good. The colder the road and the tires, the more the slip.

No, Gibsonia. Try not to travel to Oakland or town much.

BuddyB Welcome - you are in for a delight although your bimmer is a fine reference point as well. I actually considered your dd as another option along with 85-89 911, boxster and z3. In the end the s2000 reliability made it an easy decision for myself as well as the visceral feel of the car. I am looking forward to talking to you about your m3. I spun my car the first hours i had it - luckily nobody hurt and no damage - because it was 40 degrees and i was an idiot with the vtec...however, i kicked it out going in a straight line! Some people would call me a sissy for sayin this - i would take the Veh Stability Control you have on your car in a second because when your not on the track you don't know the condition of the roads. congrats and welcom

I'd likek to think that it was my quick reflexes and superior driving ability that saved me the other night, but it was more likly due to the intervention of stability control.

I agree. This car without could be quite dangerous. Perhaps that's part of the appeal !
