Default Air Conditioning In AZ summer

This is my first summer with the S. I'm concerned that my AC is not that powerful. The AC oscillates between cold and very cold (I think that it get less effective when I'm at a stop). What I'm trying to figure out is if there is something wrong with my AC or is Honda's AC just not that good. I had an IS 300 prior to this that had much colder AC. If you guys could share how effective your AC is and how you would compare it to your other cars I would appreciate it. And it would help me decide if I need to bring it in for service...

Probably just needs to be charged. Mine works great, and the small cabin size means the car cools off quickly, especially when you either crack the windows or put the top down and then back up to let the hot air escape.

Compared to other Honda's I've always thought the s2k a/c is pretty good. Prob has to do with the size of the cabin. I have no issues with mine ('06). You may need to have your freon refilled. I have a guy if you need send me a PM.

You can't compare the blower power to V6 cars.

Can we use one of those refill kits that come with a pressure tester? I think mine might need refilled but for the most part, it's been good enough lately.

Thanks for the responses so far... I'll try to get it charged (although my car is pretty new 2008, 9k mi). How much does that run?

Change out your cabin filter. Works better with hardtop too. A supercharger helps.

My AC goes back and forth between ice cold and almost warm or neutral blowing air. Could it be a filter problem or freon? The cabin stayed pretty comfortable this afternoon, with highs around 112 after baking in the sun all day, but I get a little concerned when it isn't blowing cold.

My A/C isn't able to effectively cool down my cabin (hardtop) when it's too hot (100F+). In fact, it keeps cycling on and off, occassionally making a really weird vibration noise. Annoys the hell out of me. What's more annoying is how it causes the engine speed to drop too low when coming to a stop. I hate that jitter, makes this car feel like a POS. /rant
