Default Alignment Kits

My friend was thinking about getting his car aligned and then mentioned something about getting his own alignment kit. I never even knew they existed.

Does anyone have experience with aligning their own cars and if so what device(s) kits if any did you use ?

I think it would be cool if one would not have to go to the dealer everytime one wanted to change the alignment for street or track purposes.

Thanks,

I could be wrong but I think he might be talking about a camber kit. As far as I know alignments need to be done by a professional on an alignment rack

That makes sense. I thought maybe it was possible to buy your own Toe plates and other necessities to do the alignment.
