I don't buy from Rick's anymore. I've had issues with them in the past and it isn't worth the risk of hassle anymore. I ordered S2K badges from them just about the time that Honda was ordering a cease-and-desist for using the "S2000" on the badge. EVENTUALLY things sort of got resolved, I was sent substitute badges that I didn't care for but that was the end of it.

In my opinion, you cannot operate an online business as a "part-time, on-the-side" sort of thing. Customer service is customer service. Period. If you are not willing to handle the reprecussions of poor communication with your customers, you cannot later cry "foul" and become the victim. Part-time or not, it is A BUSINESS and it is YOUR BUSINESS. Run it appropriately or stop operations altogether.

Now, that being said I also try to stay out of stuff that doesn't involve me. If YOU had a bad experience with Rick's or were waiting on parts, etc. it MIGHT be appropriate to chime in. I don't take "friendly jabs" at people outside of our community (AZ) because I don't know how people are going to react to it. I know that everyone in AZ is someone I will eventually meet in person and get to know, making it appropriate for me to verbally attack (i.e. Lee has a big fat ass).

Just my $0.02

I kind of feel the same way as Zonie does. If not yours, dont get involved. But that thread was interesting. abusing your customers is not a very good way to do it. I also agree that a business can not be part-time.

Damn, Zonie must be on his meds again.....coherent thoughts again.
Nice work Zonie!

I had a negative experience with "Rick's" when I bought my shift knob from them, nothing major. I ordered the shift knob and didn't receive it for over a month. I called them numerous times, usually just getting a cell phone like answering machine. Finally when I did receive a call back, I was informed they were busy with "fall color's" and i'd receive my order when their next batch come in. I finally received the shift knob 2 weeks later, so a total of 6 weeks. I made a forum post about the situation and people blasted me. Saying that he just does it part time, and that people need to give him a break, because he's a nice guy.

My conclusion is this, if you can order from somewhere else...do.

I stay out of other people's business threads, unless it:

1) involves me
2) involves you guys (I love you all, just not in the same was as KPKAK or ZONIE)
3) involves a sponsor of our club (Earnhardt's, SOS, AZCARTOYS...)

Not worth getting everyone's panties bunched up like the girl in fourcylthrill's avatar....
