Autocross ?
Hey guys......
New to the area and wondering about autocross locations and dates. Im going to get the car on the track asap but i figured a few autocrosses with the new car wouldnt hurt at all.

Nothing other than Firebird locally for now. There's still some hope that Arizona Motorsports Park (AMP) may re-open, but that's in the hands of the politicians and the courts.
If you look at the links you can see that Tucson and Sierra Vista also hold at least one autocross a month. Tucson uses the large parking lot at Southwest International Raceway that is loose asphalt.
I've never been to Sierra Vista, but have heard that at least one of the lots that they use is "grippy" concrete.

The one time I went, there was quite a bit of damage. They had to change the course slightly to get around some of the holes everyone was making.
EDIT: That's too bad. I live really close to PIR now. And pretty far from Firebird.

Ya the FIR autox's just aren't up to par at all with most others I've been to. The courses are just too short and too small...with me driving from Prescott, I don't think I will be attending any of the other FIR autox's...I'll just stick to HPDE events. It's not worth $25 + gas + time for 1 minute and 30 seconds of fast driving
