Default Battery Question

I have noticed the last few days some "hard starts" so when I looked at the battery its "Clear" with a red dot which indicates that it needs a charge.

I added some distilled water but its still clear so it sounds like another trip to the dealer. Fortunately its under warranty.

Given that its only 19 months old I thought I'd get a little more out of it.

Anyone else have their batteries go that soon ?

Hmm, I thought they were "maintenance free"? I've lived here my whole life and I've never had a battery go more than 2-3 years. The heat just destroys them. Always buy the longest life warranteed battery you can, so you can prorate a new one after 2 years...

I just went through this with the Subie. I added some distilled and it lasted another few days then completely dead. Batteries only seem to last a couple years in the heat so I picked up a 3 yr free replacement Die Hard.

relocate them to the back. They last for forever! When I sold my 92 miata in 03 it was a stock battery and in Tucson its hole life.

Went to the dealer yesterday. I was bad. Producing about 1/2 the amps according to the tech. Just glad it didn't cost any money to replace. Maybe I can have one more go bad right before the 36 months are up
