As a bonus activity, I need to gather signatures for our club formation application. If we get a huge turnout, I will have the 10 signatures necessary to complete our app...otherwise, I will try to work out some kind of mail system to get the signatures.

Thanks,
Tanq

The next NASA event is on the 2nd so I should be there (NASA event is why I missed the Lake Havasu trip ). Looking forward to it!

Oh, and why do they call it the BioSphere when it's really a cube of some sort?

Tanq,

Are the signatures you need for S2KCA? And by signing what does this do for us (I'm still not a member, have been thinking about it though)?

Tom,

S2KCA wants 10 people to start a new club. There is wiggle room in the requirements, but since we have 17 people who consider themselves part of the group, getting 10 signatures shouldn't be hard. Your signature means that you want to participate in the founding of the club; it doesn't require that you join S2KCA.

I wrote up the rest of the application, which asks for info on club structure, goals, etc. I left everything the way it is now (decision by consensus, no dues of any kind, voluntary contributions of time for planning/routing/etc.). The only real difference is that:
-- we have to label 3 events per year as S2KCA events
-- we can petition our Regional Director for funds for our events
-- we are now officially a group, allowing us go out and try to get discounts and services for the other members
-- we are not just a bunch of guys who go driving together; we are a bunch of guys who go driving together and have an official name.

Thanks,
Tanq

Uh, Tanq, guess since you are our regional director, I'll direct this to you:

I'd like to petition you for, uh, some funds for this, uh, event I'm having at, uh, Beaver Street Brewery next Saturday night. The funds will be used for, um, 'fuel' -- liquid courage as I like to call it. Eveyone in the region is welcome to join me! What d'ya think??

Seriously, I strongly encourage everyone to join s2kca. With Chris being the regional director, Team AZ participation in S2KCA events ought to go up (as will the number of regional events!). We really should be able to get ten people who can shell out $35 for all the benefits of membership!

Just MYO. Thanks, Dave

Tanq...just thought I'd let you know that I joined S2KCA.

So how do I get the S2KCA logo under my username?

Thanks, Tom! My guess is that 25-30% of all SW region members are now in Arizona.

Dick,

The petition can be signed by 'active S2000 owners', according to criteria (b) of the formation document. Later, it talks about 'active members', but I interpret that to mean active members of the local club. It ain't very clear, so I think we are safe.

Tanq
