Brake rotors
I need a new set of those black-coated Centrics.
Anyone know a good deal on these? The internet pricing is all over the place.
Thinking about trying the cryo treatment this time....

I think cryo treating rotors is a total sugar pill IMO, you will notice all the places selling it will preach all day on theoretical advantages but when you act for factual standarized tests and results, they are always empty handed.
They theory behind it states that the freezing and reheating cycles reduce the micocracks in the structure, but keep in mind this theory in itself is flawed. In theory, I could maybe give this more benefit with a cast item that is treated immediately after production and not some item that has been on the shelves for weeks.
They have no way to control how the molecules are realigned so with that being said and the random nature of an unstructured realignment, it could hurt or help you in the end with the process.
The density of an element or alloy does not change what so ever with mere heat cycling and freezing. You will have same mass and density, just a random realignment of the molecules, remember Random.
Hope this helps ^^

I have also read acouple independant studies on cryo treating where the testers used samples and examined them with a SEM (scanning electron micrograph) and did not observe and results to support the therory of cryo treating.
