Default Bumped and BUMMED!

Got my passenger side door and back fender hit by some *#@*%$ in a nice (?) office building's lot last Wednesday The sob of course didn't leave any info and I have an astronomical deductible even though it's a "no fault" claim. At least it will cover the rental car. The estimate is a little over $600. Guess I'll be visiting Elite soon even if they are at the other end of the earth from me.

Oh yes, got "flashed" by a red light camera on the way to the estimate! Anyone know if those things click on yellow? Anybody know what to do if I get a"gift" in the mail? It was at 40th St. & Bell.

Bummer, bummed... hey, definitely not my week.

On the flip side, ADOT finally decided I'm not a neo-nazi and has sent my new license plate, AMOKNAZ.

Guess I should hold off on applying for "ZIGHIEL" then, eh?

Sorry to hear about your damage, Lauren. I'm sure it will all work out and at least you weren't moving (i.e. injured).

If you DO get a ticket, you've got options, but it's sort of a risk-reward thing. If they mail it with no delivery receipt, you can just "never receive" it. But if they serve it later and within I think 120 days, you get to pay for the Sheriff as well. You can always fight it in court, but it takes lots of research and may be easier to just pay it or take class.

Hope things get better! Take care!

Hey Lauren,

That light is right by my house and let me tell you, there have been a ton of accidents there. I am almost positive that if you got the ticket, you went through the light on red. Sorry, that may not be what you want to hear.

There should be a red line about 4 feet into the intersection. If your car isn't past that line when the light changes, suprise, you get your photo taken.

Lauren:

Check out Ric's Autobody in Scottsdale airpark: you don't have to drive all the way to Elite: ask for Tony. They did my S w/ no problem. They do quality work on quality cars, find them to be fair and honest. Have worked w/ them for years.
They are a lot closer than Tempe!

Hey thanks for your help...

I got flashed at in the intersection but no tickets or other trinkets so far. Appreciate the info though.

Haven't had the heart to call the shops yet. Almost feel ashamed to drive it - like I don't care about my car or am a crappy driver or something. Hope "we" feel better soon!

Lauren,

Stacey's ticket didn't come for about 8 wks after the violation, so I'd keep that $200 tucked under the pillow for awhile longer. Sorry to hear about it.

I feel your pain. My car got hit in the parking structure on monday. Damage was to the front left and there was no note. I didn't even notice someone had hit me, but I started driving and had to hold the wheel at 30 degrees to the left to go straight. Apparently they jacked my alignment. So $220 later I am back on the road with a scraped rim and missing paint on the front bumper.

Im just waiting till I get out of that god forsaken parking structure to repair all the visual damage.
