Changing fluids

Changing fluids
I recently purchased a AP1 2000 with 35,000+ miles. This is my first ownership of this type car & will be driving for fun here in AMesa, AZ.
I'm thinking that changing the transmission & differential fluids to synthetic would be a good idea. My choice of product would be AMZOIL. I've used this product in my diesel truck for years & have had good service with the product.
Any comments on using AMZOIL ? 10W30 would be the grade.
Also, where would a good place be to take the car in this area ? My living condition does not allow me to do oil changes here in Mesa.

The specs are in your owner's manual.
Everyone has their favorite and it seems to make no difference whatsoever. There is some anecdotal evidence/claims that Mobil 1 full synthetic just runs thru the engine very quickly Spend the money on boutique brands if you want. I believe Amzoil how claims to cure COVID-19 in addition to curing cancer as it's always done so it's well worth the price if your car has either. The very early cars are notorious for oil consumption and Honda recommends checking the level every time you fuel up. 1000 miles/quart is considered "normal" in the early cars.
Honda S2000 oil filter is essential.
Honda Manual Transmission fluid (oil) is recommended and everyone has their favorite and it seems to make no difference whatsoever.
Differential oil is critical and must be GL5 SAE90 Hypoid Gear Oil as specified in your owner's manual. Everyone has their favorite and it seems to make no difference whatsoever.
Refer to the 89,000 oil threads here for details. This will make it 89,001.

Make sure the (OEM) oil filter is tight. It has numbers on the side of it for reference. 9,000 rpm motor and 80psi oil pressure!
I ordered a little 12v fluid pump from amazon to make the trans/diff oil changes super easy!

As mentioned, there is not a ton of difference between the decent brands besides how much people try to sell you on each one Amsoil is fine, it is not the super duper save the world stuff the sales folks like to make it out to be. We pick on it some because they are pretty much kings of being snake oil salesmen. Only their snake oil actually lubricates well, their sales approach is just garbage. I used to use it when I got a big discount on it. I use M1. I noticed not one iota difference in oil consumption between Amsoil and M1 in mine. Others may say otherwise. But just use a good quality oil and the correct weight and you will be fine. Do check it regularly. S2000's, especially AP1's tend to use oil by nature. Some worse than others. I just check mine at least every fillup. Sometimes more if I am running track events of course.
I have used Honda MTF for the transmission and like it. Shifts nice and smooth like it was new.
Diff should be changed too of course and make sure you use the right type and viscosity. I think I used redline on the last change.

Ignore the numbers on the oil filter.
Torque it to 16 lbf-ft. The wrench with the 3/8" socket on top (for your torque wrench) is $6 at Autozone-type stores. Take your oil filter with you and test fit.
