Default Check engine light

So I'm gonna go the the Zone in a little bit to see what the check engine code is but I thought I'd share because I got a brief VSA and (!) that hasn't come back.

So I got out of the gym and started my car. At this point I have had no lights up yet. I start the car and the check engine light, VSA, and (!) light all come on. I drive home and the car seems fine, no noticeable problems. I stop for some needed gas, and when I restart the car the check engine light is on but the VSA and (!) light are both off. I drove to work and back and still only the check engine light is the only one lit.

Like I said, I'm heading to the Zone shortly to have them run the check engine codes, but I just thought I'd share cause of the "vanishing" VSA and (!) lights...

Hmmm.

Interested in what Autozone says what the code is for.

Possibly a bad sensor?

I think that might be the case because now there is are no lights on...

Anyone else have any warning lights pop up then magically go away?

Zone will only pull an engine code. Doubt this will show up.

Have you changed your wheels or brakes?

The sensor for VSA gets dirt or bad connection on 06+ sometimes.

I'd remove the wheels and look around + clean up the sensors.

I had a similar problem. It was due to worn brake pads.. (for the VSA and !)

Will auto zone be able to tell me anything even though the DTC light isn't on anymore?

I damaged and replaced the front driverside ABS sensor when I put on my coilovers... but that shouldn't effect the engine light, right?

BTW thanks for all the input

If nothing was clear or your battery disconnected then there should be a code stored if it is powertrain.
