Hey Roger, it was nice to finally meet you at the track! It was a great event, even with the schedule issues due to water/rain puddles cleanup on track. We had about 6 S2Ks at the event with 5 of them doing track time. We even had a Porsche Carrera GT and a Ferrari 360 Spyder F1 come out and play
Here are a few pictures I took today
Curtis (SPLNDID) & Ryan's (l8brakr)
Mine & Roger's (RogerHinga) with Daniel's track Integra (yooshaa)
Didn't get a chance to take a picture of my student's S2K or Daniel's S2K when he brought it by later in the day.
we need to get some s2k out there to represent in drifting.. cant let these 240sx guys have all the fun guys.. acouple of the guys I was helping out was having a hard time attacking the course... After some tips and advice I gave him he was able to pull off a 2nd place finish in intermediate class, 2 other guys I was helping out gor 2nd and 3rd in beginner class..
how did your students do mervin? btw I wanted to ask you how would I go about getting a HPDE licenses so I can start doing time attacks?
puddle and water on the track was a bunch of BS.. I think they sent the drift group out there first to dry up some of the track... hahah but its okay.. drifters love wet surface.. easy to slide and saves alot on tires..
My student did great! He just got his car about 2 months ago so it was good to see him learning the car's traits on track. Got the car sideways a few times in the early sessions but he caught all of them. He picked up more speed as the sessions ran on so I think overall, he had a good time.
As far as getting into Time Attack, all you need is to be a 3/4 HPDE driver. No license of any sort other than proving you can run the HPDE sessions with the fast guys and knowing how to handle your car at that level of experience. Since you're already helping out with instruction with the drift guys, you certainly have what it takes to run TA! Just sign up the next time for 3/4 and add TA during registration and you're in!
