Default Dash Controls

So a while back I picked up a new deck, speakers and mini sub for my car. Since then, the dash controls haven't worked. I truely have no idea what I am doing when it comes to electronics and wiring. Does anyone know of an easy way to get this back? I had initially done some research online and there are some parts to purchase, only from UK though, to wire it up to work, but it took some soddering and what not. Am I shit out of luck? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

To those who have the DCI, In order to make it plug-N-play using an Alpine deck I have to purchase the wired DCI (90) and the plug-N-play harness (no scv 25)? Thanks for the clarification.

I also emailed Bob at Modifry hoping to get a clarification.

Pretty much... The DCI $90 is head unit specific "sony, alpine, etc.."

As for the adapter harness... You can use adapter harnesses made by other manufacturers, but chances are they won't have wires for the Dash Switch and Dash Mute Circuits. The Modifry adapter is specially made with these additional wires. If you use another adapter you can still install the DCI, you'll just have to splice into the factory wiring for these two connections (as shown in the installation instructions). Most stereo stores charge $10 to $15 for the adapter, Modifry is $12.

Just buy the harness and DCI together - and for a few bucks more, you can get a lead to tap into your speedo sensor to get variable speed volume control. Very cool! I have had one of these for a while, and it started to give me problems, but Bob replaced it at no charge. Really stand-up guy.
