"Basically [the F&F franchise] promotes race as this very normal thing," Morris tells NPR's Michele Norris. "Around these cars are these very different types of people, but it's not the subject of the movie like it is in most Hollywood movies. Race is just a matter of fact... And I think one of the things [Vin Diesel/his production team] wants to try to do with these movies — whether consciously or not — is to sort of eliminate race as a point of conflict and use race as a sort of point of normalcy, which I think is a really revolutionary thing to be able to try to do and achieve."

Totally. So how was it?

 

I thought the movie was the best of series. The ending is a little over the top, but all in all quite satisying. Make sure you stay until the end credits are run for a little surprise. I also think the Challenger SRT8 doesn't stand a chance against the GTR for the end race, but that's just me. We saw the 5:20 showing and the theatre was about 3/4 full. When we left at 7:40 the line for the 8:20 showing was out the theatre doors and halfway to the parking lot. It was the longest line I have ever seen for a movie and even more impressive since it was still 40 minutes till the previews.
