Default Finally running!

So the S2000 is finally running great. Just had Mitch over at Vivid racing finish the tuning today. It has a beautiful power curve now. I will post the dyno once I get it scanned. Putting down 271whp in 3rd gear on a Mustang Dyno and there is a lot of power down low and throughout midrange. That would be around 300whp in 4th gear on a dynojet. The curve doesnt have that vtec notch in it, in fact he set vtec at 4k at 100% throttle and you cant even tell when it kicks, the car pulls consistantly all the way to 9K.

As some of you know I had a lot of problems with the setup. I bought an emanage (dont want a standalone for emissions reasons) to get a few more ponies out of the kit. The first tuner I went to tried his best, but had the instuction manual out most of the time and could not get the car tuned properly. I had power, but was running too rich, backfiring up top, and the pull was very choppy.

I would like to especially thank Cesar for the install and advice after the install of the SC and clutch. He did a great install job, and was patient with me even with the missing parts. Lori was also awesome as usuall (so sad she is leaving). She always had a smile, and pulled a few strings for me. for earnhardts!!

And Mitch at vivid racing is a genious with ECUs. His background is mostly AEM EMS, but he also knows emanage very well. We ran into a few glitches with vtec throwing a code because of an old firmware version, but once he figured that out it was smooth. The HP and torque curves are perfect, I never knew the S2000 was capable of such a smooth pull from 3-9K because usually you get a huge kick at vtec. The AFRs are great and safe. Probably could get more HP with a leaner mixture, but we are very safe and running strong the way it is but not too rich. I highly recommend him as a tuner. I think we should also set up a dyno day over at vivid.

Of course we pissed off the sales staff who couldnt talk on the phone while we where dynoing. MY car sounds SICK

While at vivid I met a guy (forgot his name, sorry) that was in Import Tuner Magazine with an SCd S2000. I didnt see the car, but I heard it is sick. 408whp, suspension, etc. He was helpful talking about specifics of the car. Anybody know him?

All in all I am VERY happy with my car now. After 6 weeks of tinkering it runs awesome. Now I cant wait for my 4.44s to get here next week.

Ben

here is a badly scanned dyno sheet (my scanner is not working well). But you can at least see the nice curves. The high one is HP, then torque, then Air/fuel.

The peak in air/fuel is the vtec crossover. It spikes lean because the higher cam lift sucks more air in and the computer needs a second to compensate.

It is the stock 7lb pulley. My next step in about 6-9 months is 550RCs, FPR, and 9lb pulley. I am certain Mitch can tune that setup with emanage to around 340whp or more. I am just having fun with the setup now. I also need to relearn how to drive the car. It redlines a lot quicker now.
