Default front end options

So, I've had my (fake) AP1 lip on for all of a week, and I literally can't wait to get rid of it. Thinking about the last couple of pieces that I want to complete the exterior of the car, and outside of an ASM duckbill, the front is the last piece.

Generally, I'm trying to only do real-deal, quality pieces. KW coilovers, Fujitsubo exhaust, OEM top, RPF1s (which, let's be honest, might as well be an OEM wheel), a small but growing collection of Spoon parts (shift knob, strut bar, rigid collars, more on the way). I have no problem saving over time to get what I want, rather than buying some ebay crap in the short term. The only reason the rep AP1 lip is even on the car is because the paint and install was free.

I'm kind of thinking of:
  • Finding a real OEM AP1 lip, and preparing to pay a shitload for it
  • Amuse R1 front bumper
  • AP2 conversion with OEM lip (also a pain to find, but somewhat easier than an AP1 lip based on limited research)

Mostly, it's between the OEM AP1 lip and the Amuse bumper. I love the look of the Amuse piece, but I do drive my car every day, and given that I'm moving to Tucson soon where the roads are worse, I'm afraid I'll crack it. I know Shine makes a decent replica which is actually more durable that the real piece, and that on some levels it makes more sense to put something like that on an everyday car, but I just don't know.

What would you guys do, given the choice? An Amuse bumper is more than twice what an AP1 lip would cost, and while it looks better, would be something I would have to worry about more.

I'd also eventually like to possibly try a vinyl wrap eventually because Sebring is basically my least favorite color, but that's another story for another thread.

How familiar are you with the options for the Ap1 front end. I don't want to spend the time writing a novel if you already know all of the available options.

The ones you listed, are they your only considerations? Would you prefer to retain the OEM bumper and just pick up a lip?

I think I generally know about a lot of the possibilities, or at least the ones that people generally pick.

As far as what I'd like to do, I think it's just a balance of reasonable durability with a generally "clean" look; Given that I have an OEM top and will be getting an ASM spoiler, I don't want to pick something super aggressive for the front end as it'd look a little incongruous with the rest of the car, if that makes sense.

I totally agree. I think waiting for an OEM lip to come up is going to be your best bet, but be prepared to pay $400 - $600 for it.

Yeah - I've made offers in that range to a few people on the various Facebook classifieds areas, but so far nobody has bitten. I'll keep looking. Maybe something local will pop up one of these days, too.
