GT5
Realism is cool.. but I still have a soft spot for Ridge Racer. I college I sank hours into Rage Racer, and scouring the original version of Napster for the soundtrack.
With that said, a few years ago a friend and I went to the the Nurburgring for a lap or two. The night before, we loaded up GT4 on a projector TV, set up the logitec feedback wheel (with all 90 degrees of turning rotation), and practiced a few laps in our cars (BMW 540i and MR-S). It was good practice too; I didn't go into nearly so many walls the next day!

I completely agree. The actual feel of Forza is just better.
This was obvious when my mom wanted to try GT4 and a Skyline could not do a 90* turn at 10mph (it just understeered into the wall)... simulation my ass.

The GT series has always looked better, the cars look damn near like im watching a real race. When it comes to gameplay however, it seems severly lacking IMO.
I guess when you spend this long on a game, yes it had better look beautiful, and I have no doubt that GT5 will look great. I might give it a shot after I hear some reviews.
I've been playing Forza since the 1st one, and they have always had a damage model, online play, etc. I'm curious to see how GT plays online, as thats the MAIN reason I play Forza...race enough single player to get enough money/cars to be competitive online, and then get out there and race.
It seems that GT's car modeling standpoint is that if its hard to drive, that means its realistic..
Forza puts out a product that keeps current (small little updates a few years apart), and plays very well and has a very good fun factor to it.
Also, I'm a controller guy - and the PS controller is terrible for modulating throttle/brake with their "pressure sensitive buttons". I guess they have triggers now, so we'll see.

I just like the idea of randomly generated tracks, and how amazing it looks. Hopefully they change the whole steering issue. i know it was like that with GT4, but I eventually got around it and it never really bothered me...still laid down awesome times on the ring, so it didn't matter.
Online play has always failed. One second you're passing a car and the next second the guy appears at a completely different spot. How much fun is that?
On a diff topic, are any F1 cars in the game this time? I find it fun trying to catch real F1 race times at their actual tracks.
