Tim,

Glad to hear Mike took you to the Beaver Street Brewery - best brewpub in Flag - and a good cure for taking your mind off car troubles.

I get into Phx at 8:35 pm Thursday night and have to get up to Flag that night. Would be glad to drop you back in Joseph City if that would help. Gloffer's got my cell #.

Enjoy your few days in AZ. Gloffer's hospitality is unmatched - you were rescued by a hell of a guy.

Dave

Well, after a couple of exciting days at the Gloffer Bed and Breakfast, MPTuning and his brother are back on their way to Atlanta. I dropped them off up in Joseph City about 11:00 AM this morning. His heavily modded and new/used right rear axled S2000 was back together and they should be into New Mexico on I-40 by now.

It was great to be able to help out an in-need S2000 owner. Hopefully he wasn't too bored hanging out with an old S2000 owner. We had a great time at the D'Backs game last night. When the D'Backs won, of course Tim thought it was all because of the "good" luck he brought to the stadium. I don't know about your luck Tim? I think you used a good portion of your bad luck by breaking an axle at 2:00 AM in the middle of snake and coyote country. And a good portion of your good luck by avoiding anything worse than a spin in the middle of the freeway when that happened.

You should probably lay low for the rest of your trip back to Atlanta. (Leave those cones alone, and don't run any red lights, and never, ever, ever turn left against a don't turn left arrow.)

Good Luck, and hope to see ya at the megameet.

DaRKCrow,

Hey, here's a quote from my trip report on Team AZ/CO escapades at the last Irvine Megameet.
"What a blast. It comes around to 11:30 PM, the party's breaking up and there's a few hard cores that say hey let's go to another bar. Mookie and I agree. What the heck were in Newport Beach, CA, both of us got rides over to Hooters, so why not find another place to have a cocktail?? Seems we walk all over downtown, and get this the bars have lines to get in, WTF. We find Cassidies and we're in. I haven't been in a place that crowded since I was outside Bank One Ball Park for Game 7 of the World Series. Oh well at least the scenery was decent and bar had Sierra Nevada Pale much to Mookie's enjoyment. The So Cals "hard cores" have had enough and say their good byes, so there Mookie and I are stuck in downtown Newport Beach without a paddle. Another beer or two and we're out the door and guess what there's a cab just sitting there waiting for a coupla in the bag S2000 drivers.

Us: Take us to the Airport Marriot. Cabbie: sure no problem. 15 minutes of cab ride, still no Airport Marriot. Cabbie to base on cell phone and radio. Another 10 minutes of cab ride, still no Airport Marriot. Mookie on cell phone to Marriot 800 number, ah finally directions- 5 minutes later Airport Marriot lobby. Turns out Airport Marriot was maybe 10 minutes from Cassidies. Oh well at least the cabbie was "honest" and only charged us $25 for a $15 cab ride that showed up as $37 on his meter."

I think we carry our drinking stomachs with us wherever we go and should be good to go for this year's event.

See ya in a few weeks with a few BS stories to tell and I'm sure you'll have a few. Just try and keep up.

c/ya, Mike

Mike,

finally got back to ATL today

goit stuck on TN for a couple of days (another yet small town with no internet) and a Walmarrt who will not touch my tires (driving on steel belts!!) so I took my rears and put them up front for the trip back.

The engine will not rev past 6k (trying to figure out why?) and 2 big ol rocks decided to make 2 softball size imprints on the windsheild. Still made it back ok though

again thank you for the Ball game and giving me a place to stay for my short time in AZ
