Default Higher Octane Gas

Ok i just moved to tucson about 2 weeks ago and I just put in a contract for a house here as well and the S isn't even shipped out here yet. But I've noticed that the octane rating on the gas stations out here is 91 at the highest I've seen. Is there anyplace that has the 93 that I'm used to out in VA?

Thanks,
Dan

You will be stuck with the 91 octane. If you really have to have 93, mix about 3 gallons of 100 octane when you fill it up an that will equal it out to 93.

I've run both 93 and 91, and those 2 ticks difference don't matter. It runs fine and gets the same gas mileage.

Alright thanks guys, just wanted to check and see if there were any stations which offered the 93, but as Doc said it shouldn't make a difference.

i did what i could to find more info on 93, but it just doesn't exist in this state. the only way is to mix, but they're right. it's not worth the trouble. the S, even mine modded, can run of 91 just fine with no problems.

Or you could always come up to phoenix. We have a few stations up here that offer 107+ at the pump. . thouh, I dont kow what the current price is.. probably about 8 bucks a gallon. Or, convert it to Propane/CNG which gives 107+ octane.

I have a friend with and SC mustang. He has been mixing for a while. He is a Chemical Engineer and swears by it. He says he gets less no heat soak and no poor detonation at high temperatures....His car puts no retard in the spark.
