Default House Fire

Our house caught on fire last Wednesday and suffered major damage. We have insurance (Farmers) but have never been through something like this before. Nobody was hurt but we have lost several of our animals. We will be out off our house for at least 3 to 4 months. They have already found housing for us. Most everything was damaged by fire, smoke or water. What should we look out for from the insurance company?

Sorry that really sucks. I think farmers is good insurance so you shouldn't have any worries.

At least we are out of the hotel now. The house they put us in is only about a block away from our house. It is a bit smaller but we can make do.

A home can be replaced, at least no person was hurt. I am sorry for your animal friends.

Hopefully, you were able to get most of your memories out too.

Glad to hear you're okay. I can't even imagine what that must be like.

Sorry about the animals.

You'll need to check your policy. Most likely you will get repaid only what it costs to rebuild the house. So it'll depend on what it's insured for, this usually does not include contents unless specified in the policy.
