Houses
Guys, can you help me out...
We are looking to move to AZ, and I will most likely get to keep my job and work from home..I hope..
But my other half will be working in Scottsdale, we have came out here and looked around for 3 days just to get a feel. We are looking to spend about 600-700k on a house, 1/2 acre or more Granite and natural stone throughout. Mountain views, pool, 2-4 car garage, and a decent commute to scottsdale...
Can anyone give me some ideas of where ??
Thanks Geo

well believe it or not seems like everywhere in scottsdale those requirements come with a 800-1.2m price tag...... so been looking in mesa much to conservative for my taste, and hear the commute from the valley is horrible, went north of McDowell mountain park..but Hauled water poses problems...for a pool and saltwater aquariums. so thinking Anthem?? and may some parts of scottsdale.... any other ideas??

Commute isn't too bad once you know all of your streets.
Anthem is too far. Maybe check something up around Desert Ridge Mall, north of the 101.
Did you try the Paradise Valley area? Just west of SC border should be lower priced as well. You can check east of 101 in SC but I think that gets even more expensive.
If you go south (101 down to tempe/chandler) your commute is going to be in the top worst in town. The 101 has issues in that area.
Another thing to consider is the current market. If you really like something, put in an offer, even if it's way out there. The worst they can say is no. The rule of thumb is 20% off asking price.

The market is bad but it's still strong in Scottsdale and PV. Highend custom houses are not losing value as fast or much as the cookie cutter track homes. His description sounds more highend then middle. Commutes are relative, what are you used to travelling in terms of travel time? Living in NYC it used to take me 1.5 to 2 hrs to get from client to client so when I hear people say a 45min commute here in the valley is ridiculous I just chuckle.

Fountain hills, Paradise Valley, and N. Scottsdale. I was actually just up in Scottsdale 3 weeks ago looking for houses in that price range. Theres plenty to be had but they were too far north for my liking. If youre working in the Scottsdale area then it should be no issue.
