Default Installation Questions

Hi Everyone. I want to help my bf as a surprise who had seats and steering wheel stolen and has to be out of town for a few days. He has a 2004 model and bought 2001 seats and I think a 2002 steering wheel. If the seats do not line up to the holes in the floor what can I do. I am getting a friend to help me while he is gone but she is as clueless as I am. Is there a special bracket that you hook the seats to and then bolt it to the floor? Anything special for the steering wheel? I'm hoping you can just screw it into place. He does not know I am doing this. I also know he needs a handle for his stick shift if anyone knows where to get one of these. Bless you all for any help. Thank you so much. Maria

I could be wrong but I thought 00-05 all had the same bolt pattern for the seats, are you sure that you have the seats on the proper sides of the car?

Seats:
2000 - 2005 all have the same seat rails.

If the bolts aren't lineing up you will need to use the lifter that slides the seat forwards and backwards until both sides line up.

Don't forget to hook up the seat belt sensor under neath....

Steering Wheel:
Unhook the battery, before installing the air bag etc.

Shift Knob:
Should be able to find one easily. Infact "TEHSTIG" might be selling his stock one for an affordable price.

Seats just bolt right to the floor, you probably need the bolts unless the thief left them behind. I have a shift knob, you can have it for $10 shipped.

Also, be careful about installing those seats until you can secure the car. I know people who have been hit on multiple occasions and you don't want this happening again.

I have not started yet so I don't know if the seats will line up. I know he was concerned about this though. The battery is unhooked still but I thought the air bag was in the steering wheel. Maybe I wait for him but I think I try to do what I can. You guys are great-makes me want to get one of these too--except for steeling of parts.

Is that all for the shifter cover? I think he thought they were more. I would like that for him. How can I have you ship it here. You guys are so right about having security. His car has just been sitting where it was stolen from but without a steering wheel 1st he did not know how to move it. But if I do this on saturday I will make sure to do so before I attempt the seats. I do not want Shane to go back to that bad man Victors house. He has been fingerprinted 2 times for heroin possession the detective told Shane and I am scared to death he will want to get his stuff back from him. Bless you guys!!! Maria

Maybe someone local can give you a hand with some of this stuff. I have no use for the shift knob, it's just been sitting around and I don't mind helping out a fellow owner who just got jacked. Paypal would be the easiest way to get the funds to me and then just let me know what address you want it shipped to. Send me a PM if you want it.
