How old are you? That seems very high. I have my car insured with All State. My rate was based more on my credit score than anything. I had 8 points on my record when I switched to All State and my agent put my wreck and my speeding ticket on my CRX and not on my SI so that kept my rate at $120 per month for both cars when American Family wanted to charge me over $260 per month. When I had the S, I was paying $480 every 6 months with a $500 ded. I pay a bit over $600 for the STi. Hope this helps.

Sounds about right....for a high risk 20 year old driver.

That is what kept me from getting a car like this when I was 20.

27 years old; wife - 23. 1 wreck on my record. 1 of wife's. 1 ticket on wife. none on me. pay $100/month through USAA. it helps that we have more vehcles than drivers and also that i only put 2,000 miles a year on the S since it's a pleasure vehicle.

What coverages are you being provided in these prices? It doesn't matter what anyone is paying since you aren't comparing apples to apples. The premium depends on more than just your age and record.

-Age
-driving record and driving history/score
-score (many companies use this now - Allstate, Progressive, etc..., it's more underwriting factors than credit, but credit is part of it - it will vary based on the company - each has their own proprietary system)
-insurance history
-where you live
-how far you drive to work/school
-what you are insuring (the vehicle)
-what coverages you choose
-probably a few I am missing

$600/month may not be BS, if you had low deductibles, glass coverage, rental car, emergency road service, high liability limits, etc... That's more than I would want to pay, but you gave us no info on what that gave you.

You can't just say "I want a quote."

What are the specifics of your situation and what were you asking for when they told you $3500 and then $2000?

Who were the quotes from?

esurance.com and ??

I assume you don't own the car already, or how did you get out of the dealership?

Have you checked with your parent's insurance company, many times underaged drivers get the best rates based on their parents driving record (assuming that is good too).

oops. full coverage (whatever Az state mins are). $500 deductible. the good part is they cover the full cost of any aftermarket parts that may be damaged.
