Default Itching for something new

Hello good friends (for those who remember me, Black Nick) its time for me to start looking for a new/possibly additional vehicle, and the fondness I had with the S is really calling me back. For those who don't know, I had an 07 White S2000 (with red and black interior) which I boosted, twice (Long story, TLR version is I got a used kit, something messed up, insurance covered damage to engine, I got a brand new kit and fully built motor pushing out 500+ rwhp with hardtop ). It was awesome, and then baby #1 came which prompted me to sell the car for a Mazda 3 Its been almost 5 years and I am on baby #3 and my business is picking up and will be able to afford a new car next year. I just want to run a few options by some of you S owners and see if I am thinking clearly, or just letting the memories carry me to a wrong decision.

Option #1 - Get a car to rival my brothers 2014 ZL1 and keep my current 2008 TL with 115k miles (I have a twin brother, who is also my business partner, with whom I am in constant competition with).

Option #2 - Get a 2010-2012 daily (4 door sedan BMW/MB/Acura/Honda/etc...) and get an S (2006+ 40k-60k miles LBP, White, or Yellow).

Option #3 - Get a 2012-2014 E63 and get a new ECU and a tune to put me around 600+ HP and TQ and still fit the kids comfortably, and still look good doing it.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, biased or not, and once again, HELLO AZ S2000 COMMUNITY.

I did option 2. Bought an ISF and have a S2000 that on the stock block should do around 700 and with a built engine will be in the 8-900 range.

I did the BMW route at first and lost money because it was so ridiculously unreliable. A well setup S2000 would urinate on a ZL1 so that covers base #1. The only new "sports" car that interests me is the GT350R, and you're not getting one because they're sold out and they also don't quite beat a ZL1 power wise. If the Cayman GT4 wasn't retardedly expensive, I'd even consider that, but I'd go Viper (grown up S2000) before I went that route.

Vipers go for around mid 70s all day long and are a holler to drive. They're quite a bit nicer on the inside than the older ones. I'd consider a Gen 4 ACR or ACR-X but those are impossible to find and pretty pricy. Every once in awhile I think about Gallardos and twin EFR 9180s, but I don't think I'd ever want to be that far into a car. Older C6 Z06's crept back up in price and aren't really something to consider.

S2000's are cheap and have only appreciated in value with the exception of beat to garbage ones. I haven't found anything that's close other than an Elise/Exige but if you buy one you have to put a K24 into it which means you're immediately going to be out around $15000 on top of the car itself since the 2ZZ is garbage.

I'd take a C6 Z06 over a Viper any day. You can get them with <20k miles on them for <$45k. They're like a more practical S2000. More power, similar gas mileage, great handling, more interior space, more trunk space, more comfort.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I am going to consider the recommendations, but I also dont think a 700+ hp S2000 would be reliable to drive frequently. I was thinking maybe a z28, which beats almost everything in the same category (with the exception of the new 911 turbo). A cayman gt4 would be the business, but they are still too pricey for what you get. I never considered a viper, and I have always been a huge fan. Thanks for helping me expand my ideas.

If big HP is your game, i would skip the S2000. Do you really have the time or interest to build another turbo car? Sounds like with your life it would be more fun to buy a car with big HP that comes from the factory.

Always so pragmatic Adam I have the interest, and I wouldn't be doing the install myself so time is not really all to important. But I do understand where you're coming from. I do want to go big HP (600+) but I still loved my S, and will always love it. Are there any local boosted S's around nowadays?

Hey man, it's been a while.

I'd buy a C6 Z06 and mod it. They can be had for pretty reasonable amounts these days and they are fun and fast as hell.

I would also skip the S2000 unless you really have the itch for another one. The car is getting old, getting your hands on a clean example that hasn't been destroyed by an idiot is getting harder and harder. Your money can be better spent elsewhere unless you really want an S2000.

The community is also very different than what you remember it being.

There are a few that haven't blown up, but they aren't putting down the numbers you're talking about.

Feezy, I drool everytime I see your car. So gorgeous. Could you elaborate on your comment about the current status of the community in comparison to how I remembered it?
