Default Laguna Seca

Who is planning on going to Laguna Seca with the S2000 Club of America on January 14th? Anyone going as a passenger, or just to watch?

Bluescreen and I are both signed up to drive. After watching videos of the track, I'm not worried about hitting any walls. There looks to be adequate runoff room. Most importantly, the track looks like a lot of fun to drive.

I'm planning to go watch. The drive over & back is incredible enough even without doing the track time.

Now, who else......?

We ought to try to setup a convoy (Texas -> AZ -> LA and then north along the coast). gregstevens mentioned something about it, but hasn't given any details yet.

Great! That makes Bluescreen, Tanq, Gloffer and Ceo2b. Add in the Irvine guys, and it feels like old times. I promise not to touch anyone's love handles on this trip!

I'm just hoping there's a couple guys with a trumpet and a guitar and a gorgeous girl who wants to sing with me at a little bar in Monterey

I'd be happy to coordinate hotel rooms.

Remember that we have a block of rooms at the Embassy Suites for a good rate - please take advantage of this - it's a great hotel.

Thanks, Meat. Team Arizona -- we can discuss accommodations this weekend. I'm afraid that the timing is such that $134 per night is too rich for my blood -- even though it is a fantastic rate. I'm going to do a little scouting. Sounds like the Clarion is about half that price, but we don't all have to stay at the same place.

Meat -- no disrespect -- I really appreciate the work that goes into discounted rates.

Hey guys,

Rooms with two queen beds at the Monterey Clarion hotel are $85 per night. Rooms at the Doubletree are $79 per night. Rooms at a Days Inn right in Monterey, with the top Days Inn rating (I know, it's weak, but it would be a hell of a lot nicer than the Super 8 we stayed in at Springerville!) is only $40 per night. What do you guys think? My preference is actually the Days Inn, but either the Clarion or the Doubletree would work too. All in the same general vicinity. Does anyone prefer to share versus wanting a single? I'm willing to share if someone can put up with me.

Just to confirm, my understanding is that we will leave Phoenix on Saturday the 12th, stay somewhere in Southern Cal (San Diego, LA, or maybe Santa Barbara), then spend the nights of the 13th / 14th in Monterey, then head home on Tuesday the 15th. Am I missing anything?

I think we need rooms for gloffer, bluescreen, tanqueray, and myself -- depending on whether anyone wants to share. Any other takers? This is going to be one hell of a trip, guys. Who else is up for it???

Let me know your thoughts ASAP & I'll book some rooms for us.

I'll find out in the next week or two if I'm going to make it. If so then I will have to take the southern route down to LA. Keep ya posted...
