Default leaking slave cylinder

My clutch felt a little difficult to disengage on the way home from Mt side Fitness last night and when rolling out of the garage this morning I noticed some brown fluid on the garage floor. I'm guessing it's the slave cylinder reading other posts. Replacing the slave cylinder doesn't seem to be that big of a job and I think is manageable. If I'm replacing the slave cylinder anyway, is it worth removing the delay valve? Anyone done it? Is it a PITA? Not sure if I have a pick that'll remove that o-ring/clip. Any advice is appreciated.

I actually have the godfathers old AP1 slave cylinder in my toolbox. It is yours if you want it, but I am out in Goodyear.

Yes, easy job to replace the slave. I personally don't like to swap older model parts.
I can help you pop the CDV if you need.

Do you know what's involved in modding the AP1 cylinder to get it to work with the AP2 tranny? If it's not something crazy I might take you up on that offer. I work in Central Phoenix during the week, so go going down to Goodyear isn't that bad. I can also head out there on the weekend following the holiday

^ I did not realize you had an AP2 transmission. Now Ivan's post makes more sense to me. If you want to keep your CDV, then go buy an AP2 slave. If you want to get ride of the CDV, then the AP1 slave is an option. In all honesty I would just go buy a brand new one from Honda, unless you are in a bind and need something asap.

It seems the clutch issue doesn't really occur till it get hot out side 100+ temps. I'll order a new one from Hparts.com this week. Thanks for the feed back guys. Boofster I might trade you beer or pizza for your services, I don't think I have any mechanic's picks to get the retaining clip out.

Around here we order our oem parts from Ben.
It's better than online.

PM me and you're welcome to stop by one weekend.
I can let you try the pick method but from experience, I've switched to the drill method because it's much faster and less irritating.
