Thank you,

This event is to raise funds for a very special friend of mine.

She has gone through a lot in the last year and is in dire need of assistance but is too humble to ask for help. When I heard of her situation I decided to step in and take charge to help.

It started with a tragedy that left her mourning on April, 2009. Her eldest son was attacked. The impact of being struck, forced her son to the ground causing him to hit his head on the pavement. 19 hours later her son died. His assailant received a sentence of 18 years in prison for felonious assault.

Learning to cope with the loss of her son, her life took another unexpected turn for the worse. After evidence surfaced which proved her husband’s infidelity, she was faced with a trying decision: to leave her husband after 20 years or offer forgiveness and heal their marriage. She chose the latter. After countless attempts to sway her husband's decision to stay with his 17 year old girlfriend, she was left without a choice and filed for a divorce.

She proceeded to finalize her divorce but the signed prenuptial agreement entitled her to receive none of her husband's fortune. Even the house she once had before they got married they sold for investment purposes. But she was again at a loss after finding the property was only under his name and not hers. Through all the court proceedings, she was awarded to receive monetary support to raise her remaining two daughters. Her husband continues to remain absent from their lives on the contingency that she apologize for her actions and the trouble she has caused.

Despite her wages, and the child support she receives from her ex-husband, she is barely able to feed their small family and pay rent. To ensure her family has a roof over their head and food to eat she has been selling all her belongings.

Now is the time to step up and help those in need.

I'm not asking for millions of dollars but just a dollar or two if you can spare it. Your contribution will help a family who has suffered immensely. They have suffered for reasons outside of their control and I’m asking for your help, to save a wonderful family.

I will additionally be setting up a raffle in which all the proceeds will help this family. Please be on the lookout for this as well.
